TRMM (TMI) monthly climatology

TRMM monthly climatology

TMI instrument flown on Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) are compiled into monthly climatologies.
Original monthly gridded data (1/1998-12/2006) were acquired from ssmi.com site and subsequently averaged into monthly climatologies. For more info on the data see the info page for TRMM monthly data.

Warning: The SST data from the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) Microwave Imager (TMI) will no longer be produced by Remote Sensing Systems after Feb 14, 2015 because of quality issues.  They suggest not using TMI data for any rigorous scientific research past November 2014.

Variables	SST (°C), 10-meter surface wind speeds (measurements made by the 11 and 37 GHz channels, m/s), atmospheric water vapor (mm), liquid cloud water(mm), and precipitation rates(mm/hour)
