WOCE Hydrographic Data

WOCE Hydrographic Program Data Version 3.0

The WOCE Hydrographic Program (WHP) encompassed a range of physical and chemical measurements collected as vertical profiles (CTD and water sample data).

The WHP One-Time Survey provided high-quality global coverage of basin-crossing ocean sections. Many sections include temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, CO2 parameters, CFCs, helium, tritium, and 14C.

The WHP Repeat Hydrography and Time Series programs provided a temporal dimension to selected ocean sections and stations, respectively, usually with less broad coverage of water property measurements.

Many of the One-Time Survey data were examined by independent Data Quality Experts to help ensure the quality of the data.

Variables
Many sections include temperature (°C), salinity (PSS), dissolved oxygen (umol/kg), nutrients (umol/kg), CO2 parameters (TCARBN (umol/kg), ALKALI (umol/kg^3) PCO2 (uatm), PCO2TMP (°C), PH, PHTEMP (°C)), CFCs (pmol/kg), helium (nmol/kg), tritium (TU), and 14C (0/00)
