WHOI Objectively Analyzed Air-Sea Fluxes

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute's objectively analyzed air-sea heat fluxes

These radiative heat fluxes were provided with the Woods Hole Objectively analyzed air-sea fluxes, and they originated at ISCCP.

The net longwave and shortwave radiations are derived from ISCCP that cover the period from July 1, 1983 through December 31, 2004 with a three-hour resolution and on 2.5°×2.5° grid. This set of surface radiation data is called ISCCP-FD dataset (Zhang et al. 2004) and is kindly provided by Dr. William B. Rossow for distribution along with the OAFlux products. It is worth noting that we have daily averaged and re-gridded the ISCCP radiations so that both OAFlux and ISCCP products in the following data directories have the same spatial and temporal resolution. Information about the full, global dataset that contains also radiative flux profiles and physical variables can be found at http://isccp.giss.nasa.gov/projects/flux.html.
