NEXRAD - radar data

NEXRAD rainfall, radar reflectivity and radar echo top data for Hawaii

Weather service NEXRAD (Next Generation Radar) data product are given here. The data were obtained from NCDC (National Climate and Data Center) in native NEXRAD level III format. The following derived variables were selected for processing: rain rate (mm/hr), base reflectiviy (dBZ) and echo tops (km). There are 4 radar sites in Hawaii (Kauai, Molokai, Kamuela and South Point). The original 6-minute data from each individual radar site were remapped and merged to uniform 1km lat/lon grid. Then 1-hourly averaged maps were constructed.
