Paleoclimate 800k Modeling Simulations

The last 784 thousand years are simulated using the 3-dimensional Earth system model of intermediate complexity LOVECLIM forced by time-varying greenhouse gas concentrations, orbitally-induced insolation changes and a reconstruction of Northern Hemisphere ice volume. The forcing is applied with an acceleration factor of 5 squeezing 784,000 years into 156,800 model years. The simulation is split up into 8 chunks each starting at one interglacial. Transient changes in bathymetry, meltwater discharge from retreating ice sheets as well as changes in Antarctic ice sheets are not taken into account.
