HYCOM + NCODA 1/12° output (Hawaiian Archipelago)

HYCOM + NCODA 1/12° output (Hawaiian Archipelago)

APDRC serves model output for the Hawaiian Archipelago region from the HYCOM Consortium's near real-time global ocean prediction system based on HYCOM and NCODA. The system runs daily at 1800 hrs and produces a five day hindcast (analysis) and a five day forecast. Original model layer variables are interpolated onto 20 z-levels before being put on the server. At present, only hindcast output is served at this site, with a typical delay of about 1 month. It is intended that near real-time output will be served once an appropriate data transfer procedure is established.

For details of the ocean prediction system, see http://hycom.coaps.fsu.edu/data/glb_nrt.html.
For snapshots, animations of SSH, SST and SSS of various regions, see http://www7320.nrlssc.navy.mil/GLBhycom1-12/skill.html.
