Coupled Ocean/Atmosphere Mesoscale Prediction System for Central America
The COAMPS is developed at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Marine Meteorology Division (MMD). COAMP represents state-of-the-art analysis (including the Nowcast capability) and short-term (up to 72 hours) forecast tool applicable for any given region of the Earth in both the atmosphere and ocean. Currently, real-time forecasts with the COAMPS are available for many areas around the world.
