CMAP derived rainfall monthly climatology

Monthly CPC Merged Analysis of Precipitation data were acquired from CDC site (see the link to originator) from Jan 1979 to Dec. 2004 and averaged to construct monthly climatologies. Two rainfall intensity variables are given: rain1 based on merged satellite data (GPI, OPI, SSM/I scattering, SSM/I emission and MSU), rain gauges and NCEP reanalysis data. The second variable rain2 is based only on satellite data (as in rain1 case) and rain gauges.
