Pathfinder AVHRR best pixel SST

AVHRR derived SST based on the best quality pixels - 9km

AVHRR derived SST data were acquired from NASA JPL site (see the link below). Derived SST is based on the best quality pixels and the data are given on 9 km lat/lon grid. Original SST maps for ascending and descending passes are averaged on one monthly SST map.
Note that for data from 1985 to 1999 were constructed using SST algorithm version 4.1. Interim algorithm 4.1 was applied on data for years 2000-2003.

Monthly climatologies are also available.
