AIRS level-3 12-hourly standard retrieval product (Without HSB) Version 4, 5 & 6

AIRS 12-hourly products

The Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) is a facility instrument aboard the second Earth Observing System (EOS) polar-orbiting platform, EOS Aqua. In combination with the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit (AMSU) and the Humidity Sounder for Brazil (HSB), AIRS constitutes an innovative atmospheric sounding group of visible, infrared, and microwave sensors for measuring atmospheric water and temperature profiles. Detail description of this dataset can be obtained from GSFC: Version 4, Version 5, Version 6

Global coverage is obtained twice daily (day and night) on a 1:30pm sun synchronous orbit from a 705-km altitude. In this dataset, 0z and 12z are set to the ascending and descending orbits, respectively.
